The Story
I’m Nate Silas, an independent singer-songwriter from Vancouver Island. After spending the last several years travelling and living overseas, learning about the history, folklore and music of other cultures I’ve returned home to Canada and family. I write songs with meaningful lyrics that tell a story whilst also lifting people’s spirits. My songs are influenced by books I read, landscapes of places I visit and people I meet along the way. My set leaves the listener feeling as if they’ve been on a journey with me. As I respond dynamically to the energy and interaction I get from my audience, no two of my live gigs are the same.
As well as my original songs, I have a wide repertoire of well-known songs that I'd love to play at your wedding, birthday or other event. From The Beatles to the Barenaked Ladies, I've got you covered (pun intended.) I'm also happy to learn any of your favourite songs by request if you give me enough notice!
In addition to being a performer, I am a music educator and will soon be offering lessons in singing and guitar. If you have always wanted to learn to sing or strum, I'm the person to help you get started. Watch the website for updates about booking a lesson!
